OLYMPIA, Wash. – Shopping and comparing plans on Washington Healthplanfinder is the best way to ensure customers have the health insurance they need in 2024. The majority of customers who have already signed up or auto-renewed plans for 2024 — around 75% — can still compare and shop for plans with the same benefits as the plan they’ve already chosen, but for a lower monthly cost.

“All Washingtonians, regardless of immigration status, can visit waheathplanfinder.org by Dec. 15 to shop, compare and sign-up for a health or dental plan for 2024. This includes anyone who doesn’t have health coverage through an employer or other program, as well as existing customers whose plan has been renewed,” Washington Health Benefit Exchange (Exchange) CEO Ingrid Ulrey said. “Visit wahealthplanfinder.org to shop for coverage or find help closer to home from one of our more than 2,000 trained assisters across the state for in-person help.”

The Exchange operates Washington Healthplanfinder, Washington’s integrated source for enrolling in health insurance and Washington Apple Health (Medicaid). More than 232,000 Washingtonians have had their health insurance renewed for 2024 through Washington Healthplanfinder.

I should also note that during the 2023 Open Enrollment Period 230,371 WA residents selected Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), which means Washington has already surpassed last years final OEP enrollment with over a month left to go.

Approximately 24,000 of customers who have renewed their 2024 health plan through Washington Healthplanfinder could qualify for Cascade Care Savings — a state-funded subsidy to help people pay for their monthly premiums — if they shop and switch to a Cascade Care Silver or Gold plan. By enrolling in their county’s lowest cost Silver plan, many customers could reduce their monthly premium to $0.

Visit wahealthplanfinder.org to shop, compare and sign up for health and/or dental insurance for you and your family for 2024. Customers who select a plan by Dec. 15 will have their insurance take effect Jan. 1, 2024. Enroll by Jan. 15, 2024, to have a Feb. 1 start date.
