Red Alert: RFK Jr-founded Antivax org pushing to BAN mRNA COVID SHOTS as articles of impeachment are filed

Hoo boy. You knew this was coming. Via Jessica Karins of Inside Health Policy:

As public health stakeholders and members of Congress grapple with how to respond to changes in HHS’ vaccine policy, the anti-vaccine organization founded by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Children’s Health Defense, is petitioning FDA to remove mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from the market entirely.

FDA has already signaled significant new scrutiny of the COVID-19 vaccines, with biologics center director Vinay Prasad telling staff the vaccines caused at least 10 pediatric deaths. So far, the agency hasn’t provided supporting data for that claim, but confirmed to Bloomberg it is investigating vaccine-associated deaths in both children and adults.

The CHD citizen petition filed this week asks FDA Commissioner Marty Makary to deem Moderna and Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines misbranded and pull their Biologics License Application (BLA) approvals, which would remove the vaccines from the market. CHD says the vaccines fail to meet FDA approval requirements because they were tested under standards meant for emergency use authorizations, rather than BLAs.

...Among those applauding is Aaron Siri, an attorney who frequently sues vaccine manufacturers and Kennedy’s former personal lawyer. Siri gave a lengthy presentation criticizing the childhood vaccine schedule scheduled at the most recent meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which several leading vaccine scientists have said contained numerous inaccuracies.

“Trump just gave Bobby a mandate to fix the vaccine schedule. The U.S. Constitution placed all executive power in the President. So any ‘deal’ to not change the schedule was, in any event, unenforceable. But now anyone who does not abide by the President's directive is violating the Constitution. That includes any member of Congress,” Siri wrote on social media.

Meanwhile, in completely unrelated news...

Articles of impeachment against Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have been formally introduced by Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), the first formal move by Democrats in Congress toward removing an HHS secretary they have for months been calling on their Republican colleagues to reject. While the articles are unlikely to move forward in a Republican-dominated House, they could help raise the salience of Kennedy’s anti-vaccine policies ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

The articles of impeachment detail objections to Kennedy’s policies, including cuts to public health research, new restrictions on vaccines, reductions in force at health agencies and elimination of public comment opportunities for many HHS rules. The document also says Kennedy has withheld congressionally appropriated HHS funding and made false statements to Congress that the HHS RIFs did not include “working scientists.”

...“In all of this, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has imperiled the health and safety of the American people, eroded public confidence in the Nation’s public health institutions, and diminished decades of scientific and medical progress,” the articles state.
