And Then There Were Three: Minnesota announces "In Line by Midnight" extension as well
MNsure just joined 46 other states (+DC)...that just leaves Kentucky, Vermont and Hawaii without an official extension policy of some sort or another:
MNsure Announces Special Enrollment Period for Consumers "In Line" to Enroll at Midnight February 15
Special Enrollment Period planned to ensure all Minnesotans have the ability to get coveredST. PAUL, Minn.—Today MNsure announced a plan to ensure all Minnesotans “in line” have the ability to obtain affordable, comprehensive coverage. The Special Enrollment Period will make certain that Minnesotans who were “in line” to enroll—those who began the enrollment process but experienced difficulty, preventing enrollment in time to beat the February 15 deadline—will have their enrollments processed during a special enrollment period.
“In line” is defined as anyone who took any of the following steps with the MNsure system:
- Submitted a paper application before February 15
- Submitted a manual identity proofing request on or before February 15
- Created an account, or
- Filled out/submitted an application but didn’t complete an enrollment
The special enrollment period begins Tuesday, February 17, at 8 a.m. and runs through Friday, February 20, at 5 p.m. for consumers who created an account at MNsure.org and for consumers who submitted an application but did not complete enrollment. Those consumers must reach out to the MNsure Contact Center to complete their enrollment by February 20 at 5 p.m. for March 1 coverage. Note: MNsure.org is closed for maintenance until Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
Consumers who submitted manual identity proofing requests or paper applications will need to follow up promptly when they hear from MNsure to complete their enrollment. MNsure will reach out to these consumers beginning Tuesday.
Any consumer with questions about their “in line” status should call the MNsure Contact Center. Consumers who completed their enrollment before or on February 15 and who saw the online confirmation page once their enrollment was complete are done with their enrollment process.
“I want to assure Minnesotans who took any of these steps of one clear message—if you were in the process of enrolling, we’ll work with you to get into coverage,” said CEO Scott Leitz. “A small number of consumers may have encountered issues that made enrolling challenging over the weekend, and MNsure is taking action to ensure everyone gets the coverage they need.”
The MNsure Contact Center (1-855-366-7873) is closed today, February 16, in honor of Presidents Day. Operating hours resume tomorrow, February 17, when the Contact Center is open 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
