Connecticut: Access Health CT Open Enrollment Period Begins November 1

WHO: James Michel, Chief Executive Officer of Access Health CT (AHCT), will be visiting Access Health CT Navigator locations Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023 in Hartford and Norwich, and Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 in Bridgeport and Waterbury.

He is available for media interviews at each Navigator location by request. Connecticut residents can get free, in-person help from enrollment specialists at these Navigator locations year-round.

  • 10:30 a.m.: Community Renewal Team (CRT),located at 330 Market Street, Hartford
  • 1:30 p.m.: United Community and Family Services (UCFS),located at 47 Town Street, Norwich

Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023:

  • 10:30 a.m.: Greater Bridgeport Area Prevention Program (GBAPP), located at 1470 Barnum Avenue, Bridgeport
  • 1:30 p.m.: New Opportunities, Inc., located at 232 North Elm Street, Waterbury

WHY: The annual Open Enrollment period for Connecticut residents to enroll in health insurance for the 2024 plan year begins Nov. 1, 2023 and ends Jan. 15, 2024.

To mark the beginning of Open Enrollment, AHCT CEO James Michel will visit four Navigator locations, where Connecticut residents can receive free, in-person help to shop, compare and enroll in a health insurance plan through AHCT.

Customers must enroll on or before Dec. 15, 2023 for coverage to begin Jan. 1, 2024. Customers who enroll between Dec. 16, 2023 and Jan. 15, 2024, will have coverage starting Feb. 1, 2024.

AHCT is the only place Connecticut residents can qualify for financial help to lower health insurance costs.

HOW: AHCT has several ways to get free, in-person help throughout the state, including one-day events called enrollment fairs, as well as enrollment locations and Navigators that host sessions during regular business hours during the week.

The call center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to midnight on Dec. 15, 2023 and Jan. 15, 2024.

The call center will be closed on Nov. 23, 2023, Dec. 25, 2023 and Jan. 1, 2024.
